FAQ

Where is the Shrine Guardian in Queen's Domain?
The fight sits at the Endu Shrine on the Isle of Neasied. Reach it after the underground Crypt, the Endu Shrine Gate Key, a save at a nearby Crystal Monument, and the fenced shrine gate east of the beach Dagger Belt wreck.
What weapon should I use against the Shrine Guardian?
The Rusted Spear gives reach and a reverse thrust escape. The Wooden Club deals Impact damage, and launch-week bestiary data lists Impact as weak on this enemy. Rechargeable throwing daggers from the Dagger Belt help between openings.
What do you get for beating the Shrine Guardian?
Interact with the defeated guardian for the Stone Duck Figurine, which unlocks Umbada's shop the next time you touch a Crystal Monument. Past the body you pick up Holy Sword Endu, which grants Wind Dash even when another weapon is equipped.
Does the Shrine Guardian have a Steam achievement?
As of 2026-11-02, GameFAQs and other achievement lists name eight boss-tied achievements such as Treacherous Baleen and Hell Transcribed, but none specifically call out the Shrine Guardian. Progress still gates the shop and Endu.

The Shrine Guardian is the first boss most players meet in Queen’s Domain—a towering skeleton with a massive blade guarding Holy Sword Endu. You fight it at the Endu Shrine on the Isle of Neasied after the Crypt hands you the gate key. Win by spacing the overhead cleaver, punishing recovery, and saving at a Crystal Monument before you pull the gate.

Where Do You Fight the Shrine Guardian?

The guardian is not behind the sealed Deimpo Mausoleum door you see early. Instead, descend the Crypt, raise the heavy gate with its lever, collect the Endu Shrine Gate Key from the shrine room, ride the elevator back topside, and walk to the fenced Endu Shrine near the beach where you found the Dagger Belt.

Before you unlock the shrine, grab the Rusted Spear from the ruined tower, equip the belt for three recharging dagger throws, and save at a Crystal Monument after you open Crypt shortcuts. A Life Charm chest sits east of the underground shrine (+10% HP while equipped). Once the Endu gate opens, the boss fight starts immediately—there is no separate lobby.

What Does the Shrine Guardian Do in Combat?

Published fight notes are short because the guardian behaves like a tutorial boss: slow telegraphs and few patterns.

Tell Safe response
Raises its huge sword overhead Back up farther than you think; the overhead travels long forward
Long recovery after the swing lands Re-enter range only after the blade finishes; greedy swings get punished
General melee pressure Do not let it pin you against the arena wall

Most swings can be out-ranged except the overhead cleaver, which reaches much farther forward than it looks—a single step back is not enough. We have not confirmed multi-phase behavior or elemental attacks as of 2026-11-02.

Launch-week bestiary tables compiled by TechRaptor list 260 Life Points, 18 Attack Power, and Impact weakness (Slash and Pierce normal) for the Shrine Guardian on the Isle of Neasied. Treat those numbers as third-party data, not in-game UI we verified locally.

How Should You Prepare and Which Weapons Work?

Stack comfort tools the walkthroughs already push on the island:

  • Rusted Spear (Pierce) — default reach pick; reverse thrust creates space.
  • Wooden Club (Impact) — Impact is weak on this entry; the club sits in the Crypt chest on the Neasied route.
  • Throwing daggers — keep a throwable ready; the Dagger Belt recharges throws over time with no ammo shop.
  • Elixers — spend remaining potions here if your bar is low going in.

For broader weapon planning, see the weapon tier list and the beginner guide sections on stamina and charge attacks. You do not need a Wind Gem yet, but you will want a second gem soon for bridges toward Obmuer Temple.

What Happens After You Defeat the Shrine Guardian?

  1. Interact with the body—post-fight text may briefly say “Stone Guardian,” which appears to be a typo for this same fight—to receive the Stone Duck Figurine and a short dialogue beat.
  2. Walk past the corpse into the inner shrine and replace your starter sword with Holy Sword Endu.
  3. Endu adds Wind Dash (Ctrl on PC in cited guides) even when Endu is not equipped—critical for later gaps and the Holy Sword Endu guide routes.
  4. Return to any Crystal Monument; the figurine glows and sends you to Umbada’s Trading Outpost, unlocking purchasable upgrades with Ancient Coins.

Skipping the post-fight interaction means the shop never appears, so always loot the figurine before rushing Endu. No separate Steam achievement name surfaced for this kill in achievement databases we checked on 2026-11-02; the reward is progression, not a trophy string.
